This autumn/winter, beloved British designer Vivienne Westwood applies her distinct punk and rebellious style to The Cambridge Satchel Company’s classic satchel designs. The unisex three bag capsule collection is strictly limited edition and incorporates Westwood’s infamous squiggle print.

On the project, The Cambridge Satchel Company founder Julie Deane says:

“I could not feel more excited to announce the collaboration of Vivienne Westwood and The Cambridge Satchel Company. Vivienne Westwood is an iconic British designer with a strong ethical base and I am incredibly proud of the association.”

With the Westwood design team adding:

The satchels are constructed from premium leather and handmade right here in Britain. They come in two sizes: 14″ for £195 and 11″ for £165, and three colour ways: yellow with black squiggle, white with red squiggle and brown with black squiggle. The squiggles were first seen in Westwood’s iconic 1981 ‘Pirate’ collection, whilst the bag buckles and straps are replicas of those used on the pirate boots featured within the same showcase.

The collection shows the incredible growth and success of The Cambridge Satchel Company, which was started on a budget of just £600 in founder Julie Deane’s kitchen. The company has since gone on to be stocked worldwide with their own standalone store in London’s Covent Garden.

The bags are available exclusively at Vivienne Westwood standalone boutiques and The Cambridge Satchel Company stores.

So I’ve been feeling kind of slobby and ick about my clothes lately. Between renovating my house, school, and football on my TV every weekend, I feel like I’ve lost touch with my femme-ness. Which is totally cool, it’s just made me feel differently about the way I look. I’ve been really exploring the way that I present myself and how I feel in harder, softer, and mixed levels- and the ways in which clothing defines me. Through this, I’ve had days where I have a need to look overtly feminine and “dressy.” And this outfit did just the trick. Everything about it is light and airy, all in a gorgeous color palette. A defined waist, an A-line skirt, matching wedges, purse, and embellished jewelry. Definitely a winner for those super girly days and to put a pep in your step!

It’s the perfect layering tool (which, let’s face it, is a necessity when combating UK Winters) and so this is what I tried to demonstrate in my three outfits. For my first look, I decided to wear it as a wrap-style dress, which is a bit of a different way to style up your kimono if it’s long enough. I used it to build up some layers in my second look, as the kimono was a match made in heaven for this Missguided stripy fur jacket and, for my last look, wore it as a simple cover-up over some high-waisted trousers and a crop top.”
