Wanted and Hunted: Sheer Lace Dress

Old rule of thumb: if you like something for a few months and every time you "visit" it online or at the store, you like it even more... buy it. Working in fashion requires cycling through never-ending lists of pretty-little-things on daily perma-repeat. We'd be in trouble, or at least our wallets would be—if we followed this advice. But sometimes something very special comes across our path that inspires us to find every iteration that resembles it—especially if it's on the pricey side.

The item I'm referring to in this instance is this ethereal dress by Australian label Lover. Aside from that oh-so-minor-detail of price, this dress is off the charts on the style meter. The sheer, delicate lace is elegant. The slight skin reveal adds a touch of edge—not to mention it's holiday appropriate. We just adore it and spent hours finding variations of the style, for you.
New rule of thumb: we've clocked the visiting hours, so shop away.

.

Don't worry about this look being a fad, just ask the runway—sheer lace will be huge in Spring 2014. It reinvents to some lighter hues (pastels and white) at Michael Kors and Naeem Kahn, but black still has a presence, as seen at Elie Saab.
For all of you brides-to-be out there who haven't picked a dress yet, embrace sheer lace.
